Director of Finance of the City of Hurst for 20 years (1990-2010).

Directed the fiscal operations for Finance including budget and audit, cash management, debt issuance, human resources, information services and risk/purchasing.  During the 20 year period, also directed utility billing for many years.

Worked in three different positions during her first ten years with the City;  Acting Director of Finance, Assistant Finance Director and Chief Accountant during 1980-1989. 

A Certified Government Finance Officer

Registered Tax Assessor/Collector for State of Texas ( 1988 to present).  

Prepared the annual effective tax calculation and Truth-in-Taxation schedules while Finance Director. Volunteered as reviewer after retirement. 

Managed the City's cash and investment portfolio and authored the "City of Hurst Investment Policy."  The policy received the "Certificate of Excellence" from the Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States & Canada.

Prepared and presented the City's annual award-winning budgets.  Hurst received a special designation, Especially Notable as a policy document, operations guide and communication device in the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program from GFOA for the 1994 annual budget.  The 1992 budget received Especially Notable in two categories.  The budgets receive the primary award from GFOA each year.  

Coordinated the preparation of the annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), the Five Year Financial Overview and Strategic Plan.  The CAFR receives an award from GFOA each year.
